Join Troop 974

Troop 974 meets every Thursday night from 7:00 to 8:30 at Center Pointe Christian Church. About sixty boys are registered and many attend meetings and camp-outs.

What makes Troop 974 unique?

  • We are boy run; the scouts decide what they want to do. The adults help them do it.
  • Strong emphasis is placed on rank advancement; Scouts are encouraged to set goals.
  • We are a fully uniformed Troop; A scout shirt, neckerchief, pants, socks and belt.
  • Age appropriate outdoor activities are available throughout the year; We have a new scout campout every year and offer high adventure activities for older scouts.
  • Scouts participate in monthly community service activities; grounds clean-up, food collections and Eagle projects.
  • Troop 974 has a large number of well trained adult leaders; Many have earned BSA traing certification in many areas including Woodbadge training.
  • Troop 974 participates in District and Council sponsered events; We are fully aware of all the opportunities that are available to the youth outside of the unit. Activites sucha as Spring and Fall Camporees and Klondike Derby. Many members of Troop 974 are active in the Order of the Arrow, Scoutings National Honor Society.
